MP3/PC Speaker systems

Hi there first post on the forum, so hello all, god that sounds rubbish.
I am looking to purchase the above but not sure what to go for,i have looked at the Bose companion2.1 vii(bit pricey), Harmon kardon Soundsticks ii, and the accoustic energy ae-26.
the place is awash with systems and not to sure what is value for money with good sounds.

What's your budget and what exactly are you looking for - all-in-one; particular iPod compatibility; PC only?
