ipod touch dock

since getting my touch at Christmas i have been unable to find one [a dock] that will output any kind of video .I have been told that apple "have put a chip in the touch" that prevents video output with anything but there dock? I am about to give up and buy the arcam rdock so at least I can get decent audio and keep the touch charged. If anyone can let me know of any dock that does everything [in black/silver] I would appreciate hearing about it atb rob
