I'm thinking of buying a new ipod but have read some indifferent reveiews regarding the classic.  Mainly focussing on the volume cap and the interface with itunes which apparently can be very slow and unreliable.  I wondered if the team had encountered any of these problems and specifically if the volume cap would pose a problem when using a dock.

Also how does for example the classic 80GB compare to the previos 80GB model and is there any difference in sound quality between WAV and lossless?

 Many thanks

Re: ipod classic

The volume cap won't matter as that is for the headphone amp and the dock will draw audio from the line-out which is fixed volume anyway.
