I phone 4 wont let me post
Hi All,
I logged in last night on my Iphone 4 and tried to reply to a post and I could not type anything in the message section.
Any Ideas??
Thanks
Yes thanks, I had a feeling it was a software issue, I am not concerned about using the phone here.
Cheers

I have a HTC and have to turn of javascript to post, dose the iPhone use this?
I use Opera Mini on both my BlackBerry and HTC Desire and can post without problems, and no need for messing about with javascript or JD to turn off rich text etc...

Ahh, that's interesting! I have the Desire Z and although I was able to post, it wouldn't let me use any capital letters, symbols or numb3rs. A quick disabling of the Java Script and voila, I can now post messages with all of the features I would expect. I had a recent post where I commented on the third dimensional features of a blu-ray player, which would have been easier to just put 3D, but now I can so that's me happy
Thanks dirtydean
Poorly written website Im afraid - at least a poor choice of infrastructure.
TechMad:Poorly written website Im afraid.
Uhuh.
Re iPhone 4, it's a browser compatibility problem. I'm sure the nice Mr Duncan can switch you over
to plain text posting so you can post from your iPhone if you wish.

To say we 'chose' our current web infrastructure is like saying the people of Bahrain 'chose' their current prime minister![]()
Fortunately we are planning a move to a new infrastructure. With marginally less unrest involved.

But it's Windows - I'd have thought you would've approved.
Windows is only good when you want to belittle Apple (or you could use Google). When it comes to belittling Windows, you gotta have Linux.
I assume therefore Apple can be used to belittle Linux. Then you can make a game of it ![]()

Andy,
it's not your iPhone, it's the software used to manage this site - (i'm sure the wonderful Mr John Duncan will probably explain it better but I believe it's something to do with safari incompatability, plain text editing and TinyMCE!). I believe there is a way you can post, but you may lose some of the other features - cue either JD or Mr Everard who can arrange to have that done for you (Andrew, hope you eventually got away ok and had/are having a fine time.)
Hope that helps a little bit
Rob
