Converting DVDs for ipod touch.....
Hi, not sure if this is the best place to ask, but I've always found replies on this site very helpful and informative!
Does anyone know how, or even if its possible, to convert DVDs to the required format to play on a new ipod touch?
Any information will be very much appreciated!
sorry should have said DVD FAB Platinum
This sort of functionality should be covered by iTunes, it's reasons like this that I've never bought an apple product.
Well Andy, you try finding any commercial software from any of Apple's competitors that will do this, and you will fail. Why? Because the folks who license DVD technology refuse to allow companies such as Apple to make DVD-ripping software (because the movie studios aren't so keen on the idea). I'm sure Apple would love to implement DVD ripping in iTunes, I'm sure Microsoft would love to implement DVD ripping in Windows Media Player, but their hands are tied.
Fortunately, open-source outfits do not have their hands tied in this fashion. The answer to the original question, is yes, you can convert DVDs to iPod format, and the best tool for the job is HandBrake.
Wow, you learn something new every day. Apologies for the blatent Apple-hatred from my direction.
: )

you probably need something like dvd platinum software
