July issue - the compact disc
Does anybody else find it a bit concerning the the CD player from 1982 in the 'I remember when'..... feature is still very much recognisable as a CD player from today.
What has the hi fi industry been doing for the last quarter of a century?
Where are the hi fi companies developing the music streamers to compete with the like of Sonos?
There is so much new technology coming along just now that if the traditional hi fi companies are not more active in development then they are going to become completely irrelevant.
I do applaud the efforts of Cyrus to intoduce their digital pre amplifiers, this is the kind of product that should be all over the market by now. Any preamp / integrated amp being manufactured today which does not handle digital inputs is a dinosaur. Similarly any remote control which still works based on IR signals should be sent straight to the museum, when will hi fi be controllable by a wi-fi interface?
That's what I think anyway.
