They've both been orphans since the original printed source though, so that's hardly something you can level at Skyfall the film, it's canon.

Asda have Quantum Of Solace, Casino Royale and Skyfall in a box set for £17. Now that is serious value for money. Or value for Moneypenny I should say.

£17 for the DVDs, £24 for the Blu-rays

Oscar-winning SFX guru Chris Corbould worked on the Dark Knight trilogy and Skyfall (and countless previous Bonds)

James Bond and Bruce Wayne are orphans

The Dark Knight Rises and Skyfall scripts both contain the phrase, "There's a storm coming..."

The Dark Knight Rises and Skyfall both use a decline-and-rise theme for the main character

Silva and The Joker both have facial disfigurements - and both, obv', are fruitcakes

During Skyfall's Shanghai sequence: when Bond does an athletic run/jump/cling onto the underside of the lift, the music suddenly sounds a tad Hans Zimmer/Dark Knight-esque?

The main characters' vehicles, the Tumbler and the DB5, are both destroyed by an explosion

excellent!

Can you hear what Silva is saying?

The baddie Bain wears a mask in The Dark Knight Rises but Bond wears a similar mask on the running machine in Skyfall. So is this a coincidence or a difference?

The country mansion in the middle of nowhere, one with a butler, one with a gamekeeper.

The sewers below Gotham, the Tube below London.

Ooo, good spots  good job

Also, Lindy Hemming was the costume designer for all-three Dark Knights, and many of the pre-Quantum Bonds.

Captain Obtuse strikes again.

I be thanking you, kind sir, for that there literary lesson, 'cos I really did fink that Bond being an orphan was a new development conceived by Skyfall's script writers  ohhh sure

Smiley with a megaphone The clues are in the phrase "Let's play..." and the use of a excellent! at the end of the post - ie, it's a lighthearted game/post, not a j'accuse-style attempt to "level" anything at Skyfall

In short, your pedantry is misapplied. How unusual ohhh sure

I haven't seen it, so I appreciate the spoiler alerts!

Go to Blinkbox.com

Open an account with a pound, Blinkbox add a fiver.

Rent Skyfall for 48 hours for £3.49.

You've spent £1, got £2.51 left and you've seen Skyfall loads of times.

Come back on the Forum and discuss the plot!!!

Viola.

Are string instruments integral to the plot? (Apologies, that's not even a passable joke.)

I'll get round to watching Skyfall soon, though it's honestly not top of the list of films I'm desperate to see.

Berberian Sound Studio is top of mine, literally, has been for weeks but lovefilm won't send me the EDITED thing.

That's a great call. I'm waiting for the BD price to drop a little further, then I'll pounce.

I hope it's ultimately decipherable, though. For all the comments about Lynch's films being like a Rorschach, his films can be decoded, even if it's a struggle on first viewing.

EDIT: apart from Inland Empire; I'm still struggling to figure out what's going on there.

Ah, I see, humour is it? Well we clearly have very different ideas of what that constitutes. When does the "fun" start?

Seriously though, what exactly is entertaining about this "game"? What's it in reference to in this thread? It has no bearing on anything we were talking about, you simply brought Batman comparisons in from nowhere for no apparent reason, other than to hear to sound of your own voice seemingly.

Not remotely funny. If that's your aim, try harder next time. Or don't bother, either way works for me. Feeble.

I purchase DVD's every week from Sainsbury almost always at £10 for new releases. Why suddenly force someone to spend £30 on shopping when Asda and Morrison are only charging £10? It may be okay if you have one of those stores on your dorstep but what about regular Sainsbury shoppers, especially if you have already done your weekend shop.

The ordinary DVD is only £7. The Blu-Ray is £12.....

...... and Crunchie Nut Corn Flakes are half price. I bought 10 boxes.

Not intended as a snipe:

It would be churlish to continue a head-butting contest with someone who clearly exhibits the symptoms of Asperger's syndrome.

All the best Smile

With respect, that's rather insensitive phrasing.

I got my Skyfall BD yesterday. Pre-ordered it in Tesco along with Sherlock Holmes boxset. Total came to £26.11. Got £5 discount using a code, and got further 250 Clubcard points for the pre-order, which is worth £2.50. Total came to £18.61 for 3 films!  Smile
