I think you'll find that Play's prices are always lower than the RRP.
I would say that Play's prices are reasonable, not bargains (except their 2x1 & 2 for £22 offers). £25-£30 as an RRP for a film is ridiculous.
I took advantage of a very similar offer on amazon last week, which play must have caught onto and decided to replicate.

It may be ridiculous, but that is generally the RRP for a new Blu-Ray release. Just in the same way as a new DVD release has an RRP of around £15-£25. Of course you'd never pay that, but that is what the RRP is actually set at.

You're right, which is why I buy all my blu rays online. I've mentioned this before, but I was surprised to see Quantum of Solace for £34.99 in my local Sony Centre.
I'm just glad that Play and Amazon never charge the RRP, and blu rays go on offer much sooner online, than they do in the shops. For example, 2001 costs £9.99 on amazon and £25 in HMV, but someone must buy them, otherwise surely they wouldn't be that price in-store.

Don't forget their 2 for £22 offer as well which has some titles worth having in there.
There's also similar offers but with a few different titles on Amazon and HMV.
