Wavey Davey:In what way is the Sony better than the Panny? Just curious ...
Read the reviews. The Pana BD35 is supposed to be an improvement on the BD30 and the Sony pipped the BD35.
I thought it was the other way around (for PQ, at least) - the BD35 having a slight edge over the Sony overall (price aside). However, I don't think you'd be unhappy with any of the three players although I wasn't very impressed with the BD30's upscaling (BD35 is apparently better).
True, but I assumed that part of that was down the price difference between the Sony and the BD35, which doesn't apply to the BD30.
Although 5 months or so older, I wondered how close a 5 star rated £350 machine compared to a more recent £200 one.
I was hoping it would be close so that I could use the BD30 remote on my Panny plasma, as I don't like the control button being as far away from my thumb as it's possible to get on a remote. Anyhow, I'm going to postpone getting a BD player until next year and go snowboarding instead!

Not when you can get the newer and better Sony BDPS350 for around the same price...
