I bought one of those for a cheap office projector, they are supprisingly good!  Also got a hdmi-dvi cable for about £2!

Good spot.  I have always bought my HDMI cables from retailers and manufacturers that offer a lifetime guarantee but this should do fine providing you're not chasing the cable in a wall.  For that sort of use, I would definitely recommend spending a bit extra.  Spending more is no guarantee that the connections won't break but the only cable I have had fail was a cheapie.  No biggy though.
