Your advice and thoughts please on the completion of B&W VM1 5.1 system vs new speakers...
Hello there,
I'm in a bit of a quandry and would very much appreciate your thoughts on my current dillemma!!
I have a very budget set of Jamo surround speakers which I would like to replce.
I have on spare room duty a pair of white B&W VM1s which I am very fond of and was considering using them in my surround set up. I would use these as front speakers, then add a further pair of VM/LM/M-1s to the rear and a VM1 for centre duties... I have been offered a white pair of M-1s (the older varient I believe) for £150, which is tempting, leaving me needing to spend around £100 on a VM1 for the front centre (providing I can find one).
So, the decision is - do I invest the £250-odd to make the B&W set-up, or do I sell the current VM1s and then have a potential £400 budget to buy a new matching set of speakers? It's been a good while since i looked at the surround speaker market, so I'm a little out of touch!
Your thoughts?!
If it helps - the amp is a Marantz SR7200, with a Tosh Blu-ray, Mac Mini for HTPC and a Vibe Sub
