F2F your ahead of me by a year.
I do have a question one of you can all hopefully help with. Have only had APEX's a week and have not had a lot of opportunity to use. Am curious to hear your experiences with running in and any changes to the sound you may have noticed over time.
I nearly did not buy the APEX's as when demoed the movie performance was so laid back it was almost asleep and that with the much hyped/loved pioneer SC-LX83 amp.
Music performance however was amazing - I am a lover of female vocals, acoustic sets etc. Any speaker that can reproduce the squeak of fingers on guitar strings and give you the 'performer in the room' effect when your eyes are shut gets my vote. For a 'small' HT satellite system this got closer than any other I've heard.
On that basis brought them and hoped the movie experience was just a setup anomaly with the dealer (thankfully it seems it was)
I picked up my apex package + Yamaha 3067 from Musicraft last week.
This will be first weekend i listen to them ;o)

Just a quick question. I've got a baseline for my Apex system and Denon 3311.
I've used the Audyssey to do the initial setup and i've done my own manual tweaking. Should the center channel always be louder than the surrounds or the opposite? The Audyssey has set the center channel to be lower than the front left and right.
Thanks

Quick DIY question, what size screws and wall plugs do I need for the A10 brackets? Wow they are heavy for their size!!

The auto setup, will set the level of each speaker individually so the dB level is the same at the point where you placed the mic, so if all the front 3 are in line and virtually at the same distance from that point, then there is usually only between 0.5 & 1 dB difference maximum. You can always tweak the centre to your taste
your not replacing your mk's are you david?FrankHarveyHiFi:There'll be a few more joining the club soon too

You're asking someone who doesn't get involved in DIY unless really necessary! I'll have a guess - big ones

I wasn't referring to myself Fowler, but I will be replacing them soon

That'll be because the centre is more efficient - the A10's are 87dB and the A40 is 90dB - technically speaking, that's twice the volume, so I would expect Audyssey to set it lower, as long as their aren't any room issues affecting things.
But as mentioned, you can set the centre to suit your own taste.
Ok Dave, you will av to give us a shout if you put your surrounds up for sale lol you have got the ss150's surrounds havnt you?FrankHarveyHiFi:
