Small bookshelf speakers which aren't fussy about placement and budget receiver
English

Evening, everyone!

I'm looking for a few recommendations for a 2.0 av system for a friend. They are looking for a pair of bookshelf speakers which would go on their side (possibly with rubber feet stuck on to reduce vibrations) on a shelf inside an Alphason FW1100 (probably on the bottom shelf as its the deepest with an adjustable depth of 200-270mm so this is the max width of the speakers). Hence the problem with placement. Aesthetic reasons so they don't want stands.

Also an av receiver would be needed. It's going to be used for Sky+ HD mainly for football and light watching. No music and little or no films.

Tv is a Sony. Think it's 55" but can't remember and don't know the model. I guess a Sony receiver would be good as only one remote required (and the one for Sky)

Budget- not especially limited but obviously no point going silly when it's only used fairly lightly.

Would be most grateful for any help...

I was thinking Monitor Audio Bronze BX2 or B&W 685 / 686 if anyone thinks they'd be any good?
