Reusing speakers from previous system
My wife and I have an aging DVD player manufactured by JVC, with a 5.1 speaker system. Sub-woofer, central bar, 2 satellites plus a further 2 rear satellites on stands.
In our old house we had the rear satellites in the back of the living room because we had the wiring laid through the floor struts before we laid the wooden floor but in our new house the wooden floor was already down and is too good to rip up so we're missing that rear sound.
We could run speaker wire to the back of the room but it's an awkward shape and the wire would have to go around 2 doors in one direction and somehow get past a fireplace in the other, so we were wondering about wireless sender / receiver units that could allow us to place the rear speakers without wire trailing all over the room.
Besides that the central unit, which seems to be a combined DVD player and amp has been acting up lately, overheating and freezing, so it's probably time to think about getting a Blu Ray player.
Are there any combined Blu Ray / amp systems out there that I could wire the current speakers into? The speaker wire is clipped in, rather than using jacks.
We're in the UK.
