Receiver & Blu Ray Upgrade

I currently have a B&W 685 speaker package, Sony blu ray S360 player and an old Denon 2805 receiver. I am looking to upgrade to a new receiver and blu ray player. I have a budget of £2500. I was thinking about getting an LX82 or LX83. Are both receivers too powerful for my speakers to reap any benefits?

More powers better. Youd have to seriously crank up the volume before any damage is done
