pioneer DVD player problem

I have a Pioneer dvd player, DV-350-S, which hasn't been used in a while.

it's just been sitting in my tv cabinet but now it wont turn on at all. i have checked the fuse but it's fine. 

just wondering if there's a capacitor or something that will die if it's not used in a while?

it's an oldie but it plays everything my ps3 won't so would like to get it working again.
