Hello everyone !!

I'm currently using the Onkyo TX-NR609 for my home cinema and Cambridge Audio Azur 650A for HiFi.  I was wondering if anyone knows if I connect my iPhone to the 609 through USB, will it bypasses the DAC in the iPhone and uses the one in the receiver?  If it does, can I connect the 609 to the CA 650 as a pre-out when I decided to listen to 2-ch music with my iPhone... instead of buying another DAC such as the DACMagic?  Thank !!!

Yes, there's a direct digital input for iOS devices on the front-panel USB, bypassing the iPod/iPhone's internal DAC and using the conversion within the receiver.

But no, you can't connect the Onkyo to your Cambridge Audio amp as you suggest, as the TX-NR609 has no front-channel preouts.

Thank you Andrew for clearing that up for me.  So it seems that the only way for me to enjoy musics from my iphone through the Cambridge is to get the DACMagic or some sort of external DAC....
