i have just received my new awesome onkyo 605 and it sounds superb...ie blackhawk down. im a little confused as to whether i have paired my amp and my speakers safetly as regards power output and ohms and the speakers going bang or damaging my new amp. i have a good amp and a good set of speakers so isnt that enough or do i have to beware. i got some good advice from elsewhere but was warned my as-1 sub could damage my amp.....advice pleese

Ah well, if you will go listening to advice from elsewhere...

Seriously, though, I can see no problems pairing the MT-1 speakers with the TX-SR605 - the system will work fine. And as for how an active subwoofer can damage a receiver, I have no idea at all what whoever told you that was suggesting.

Relax. Enjoy.
