Need help with my next speaker package choice!

Morning all,

I'm currently after a new speaker setup, mainly been looking at B&W CM range which has given me many a sleepless night. The plan was to buy the left and right channels of either the CM8s or the CM9s an then build up the rest of the home theatre when the money permitted. However, i couldn't seem to decide which of the two to go with. I originally home auditioned the CM8s which i was very happy with but then made the mistake of taking home the CM9s which made the CM8's seem very small. Now the problem i have is that the CM9s seem to be to much for my room (11.5ft Depth - 24ft Width) and the CM8's don't seem to be enough having heard the CM9's.

I'm now contemplating moving away from this kind of speaker package and looking at a style speaker package, either the B&W MT range, Monitor Audio apex or something similar.

Before i commit to an audition with a style speaker package and waste anybody's time. Just how bad/good are these type of speaker packages with music??
