Music with 7.1 system Puredirect vs. Rotels RA1520 or Roksan K2

Hi, 

My 684's will be comming soon and am deciding which would be the best route for me as i love my music.  I would say 40% music, 30% movies, 30% games.  

Current setup;

685 Front R,L

685 Rear R,L

Htm62 Centre

ASW610

Yamaha Rx V671

I'm thinking either upgrade to a Yamaha A2010 or 3010 and use system as 7.1 or...

Upgrade to Yamaha A1010, use system as 5.1 and use the extra 684's paired with say Rotel RA1520 or Roksan K2.

How does the Puredirect mode in £1700 A3010 compare with the £700 Stereo amp?

using the 685's as fronts in a 5.1 system has perfect sound match with rears but lacks bass in some explosions shooting across the screen. 684's as fronts in a 7.1 system will have the bass but may not have the same sound match.

However i heard some people who have matched 684's with RA 1520 and they are loving it. (maybe would have to get a power amp on top because the rotel has low power output? )
