hiya. i am looking for an 1080i/1080p upscaling DVD player. my budget is between £70-£100 (or maybe beyond). it has to be:

upscales to 720p or 1080i/1080p
progressive scan
JPEG/MP3/DivX/WMA,etc, capable
multi-region & multi-system (both plays PAL & NTSC discs)
with Optical/digital out
Dolby compatible

and HDMI

On your budget, the Toshiba SD-370E looks like your best bet. Lots of multiregion models for sale online with minimal googling, and well within the £100 limit

Hi, If you can strectch another £30ish - the pioneer DV600 is a fab player, I have the slightly older DV696 and have been very impressed with it, cant fault it - and no lip synch issues!

Not sure of the question, but my advice would be that the Toshiba offers exceptional picture quality for the money. Can't check that dealtime link at the moment, as the server there seems to be down.

I was up for this one, but it's taken a hammering on amazon.co.uk, with 2.5 out of 5 from customer reviews. From the looks of the dates of the reviews though, it would appear this could be due to a faulty batch. I presume for WHFS&V to give 5 stars your's didn't pause randomly like these people talk about in their reviews??!!

Guess so, but not sure how many other Indonesian speakers there are on here who'll be able to help you. You seem to be getting on just fine in English here, anyway...

Re: looking for an upscaler DVD player

Yes it will, but of course without any of the upscaling you get via HDMI into an HD-ready TV.
