Listening to music with a subwoofer.

I have recently upgraded from a Marantz DV4001 to a DV7001. Previously I had been listening to CD's via a digital coax connection to my STRDA1200ES from the DV4001 allowing the amp to send bass signals to my Velodyne SPL800i. I was very happy with the sound, the bass was more extended and my Mission 775's sounded clearer as a consequence.

My problem is that I could do the same with my DV7001 but would I not be losing the benefit of it's superior DAC?

I listen to my small collection of SACD's using multichannel analogue connection which sound fantastic. I can listen to my CD's via analogue if I select multichannel on the amp and Dolby Pro Logic on the DV7001 but the sub volume is extremely weak and I don't want to hear inferior stereo music from my back speakers.

Can you help me?
