HDMI port expansion/switch

Hi Guys,
After purchasing yet another HDMI enabaled device I find that I have run out of ports on the back of LX83 Receiver. So I have three questions please:
1. Does anybody use HDMI port expansion devices
2. If so can you recommend the best one
3. Do they in any way reduce the quality of sound or video when the signal is direct through them
I know they can range from £25 to £200+
Thanks as always
