I have recemtly purchased a Monitor Audio bronze br5 package and Sony DA1200DES setup.

But I noticed the speakers run at 6 ohms and my reciever can run at either 4 or 8 ohms.  From reading the manual it sounds like I should set my reciever to 4 ohms, but this is not that clear.

Does anyone have any advice and could tell me what the difference between the two will be.

Many thanks to any advice or help

Re: 4 or 8 ohms

It's mainly to protect the receiver when you use, for example, a second pair of speakers into another room connected to the front channels. Leave it at 8ohms - it won't be any problem.
