2 amps to 1 set of speakers

I currently have an amp I like for music. I'm looking at AV receivers now, aware that it might not give me quite the same performance musically.

Is it possible/advisable or not to use my main fronts for both? I.e. wire both the amp and AV into the same 2 speakers (as long as I don't use at the same time!!).

Not at all advisable. You need a speaker switchbox at least, or even better an AV receiver with preout sockets for the front channels, so you can route these through the stereo amp to your speakers.

Like the idea of the preouts, cheers. Switchbox sounds like a bit of a ballache to remember every time!!
