Howdy people, I own a pionner pdp43xde which is about 3 years old now, and is only caplable of 720p and 1080i.

My question is, it worth me upgrading my plasma for something which can display 1080p ?

is the outlay of £1500 worth an extra 360p

I would love as many comments on this as possible.

If you're happy with your current TV then why replace it? My advice would be to make sure that you have your current tv set up as well as possible - optimised with a calibration disc etc. Then go out to some decent specialist dealer and see what's on offer. If you like something, make them play a variety of sources to check how good it really is. If you're blown away, then consider spending the cash. If not, you might have just saved yourself £1500. The Pioneer pdp436 is still an excellent set. And also bear in mind that 1080p won't make a huge difference unless you sit quite close so make sure you figure your viewing distance into any decision.

"optimised with a calibration disc" - Can I get such a disc for my Panasonic TV ?
