I am currently building a cinema room and recently purchased the Q Acoustics 1010i speaker package which I understand is now end of range.  The speakers perform well and I'm pleased with the advice provided by WhatHIFI.  As my room design is coming together, I am now ready to mount the speakers only it seems the 1000WB and 1000CB are extremely hard to find.<?xml:namespace prefix = o ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-comshockedfficeshockedffice" />>>

Q Acoustics themselves (Armour Home) said they can't get them anymore either and to try the recommended resellers online for which I've tried several and all have no stock.>>

Finally, I managed to get the 1000CB but the 1000WB is still illusive...>>

Any help very welcome!>>

Thanks,>>

Tom

Re: 1000WB are rarer than hen's teeth!

I had exactly the same issue a few months ago.

My solution was Vogels VLB 200 for the rears as i wanted to mount them slightly high and tilt them down (without having to screw anything into the speaker). They're not the most discrete, and they won't pan more than 45 degrees ish (so i wouldn't get them if you wanted to put them on the rear wall and point towards each other)

For the fronts, i just used Maplin's cheap loudspeaker wall mounts. They don't look like much, but the Q Acoustics speakers cover them totally when they're in place and they do the job perfectly.

(The fronts are now on stands in a much better position, and i've now put the rears to the side (and a sixth channel on Maplin's mounts), and i've replaced the 1010s with 2020s / 2010s, but all that's a different matter...)

I've looked everywhere that I can think of. There's none about. Unless you are lucky enough to find some on e-bay, I think you might have to admit defeat on this one.

These have been a pain to try and get a hold of but M-Form which is the company that produced these for Armour has decided to make another batch of these due to the high demand.

Thanks everyone for your help here - greatly appreciated!

@Mohsin - I've ordered from MForm now - thanks for finding this!!!  Hopefully I'll have the brackets soon and looking forward to getting everything properly setup.

Mohsin,

We seem to have a very similar set up (Pana tv, Denon and Q Acoustics).

Just a quick question....did you ever have the q acoustic sub, and if so, is the BK XLS200 DF much better?

Sorry for hijacking thread, but it seems Tomtmann has solved his problem.....

Re: 1000WB are rarer than hen's teeth!

I know you didn't ask me, so excuse me for butting in, but...

I replaced the original Q Acoustics 1010 package's sub with a Wharfedale SW150 for a great (and cheap) improvement.

The Q was never terrible, but the bottom end never sounded quite right.

I'm using a Denon 2309 for amping duties. But i should point out that i replaced the sub at the same time as bringing in the 2020s to replace the fronts and 2010s to replace the sides / rear, so i can't tell you exactly what difference changing the sub alone made. But the complete package is an absolute stormer (even in pure direct mode for 2 channel duties, it's superb) and the bottom end has none of the "woolyness" that annoyed me for so long.

Pete sorry for the late reply mate. I did have the original 1000s not the i version and the xls200 is in another league. It is smaller than  the q acoustic sub but still delivers clean deep bass. Another reason I chose it was because it allows the high level and low level to be connected at the same time. I have used the high level connection to wire it to my technics integrated amp to underpin the 1050i's and the low level to the denon reciever for its standard .1 duties.

Re: 1000WB are rarer than hen's teeth!

Hello everyone,

I'm grateful to Mohsin for clarifying this one. The 1000Si subwoofer was a substantial improvement over the original 1000S model. So much so, the 1000i 5.1 system received the What HI-FI? Award 2007 for 'Best 5.1 Package up to £750' shortly after it was released.

Very best regards,

Steve Reichert - PR Manager, Armour Home (Q Acoustics)
