RE: Your partner's view on HiFi?

My ex-girlfriend would quite happly sit right next to a grands worth of HiFi playing music through the speaker of her iPhone until I'd commandere it and plug my jack lead in (no lewd remarks please..)

I think generally speaking women are as about as obsessed with HiFi performance as they are with the 0-60 time of their car..

It'd be stupid to suggest this is any reflection on their appreciation of music though. With regards to sound quality; if open mic nights are anything to go by I'd say female singers often far more fussy with how they sound through the PA system than their male counterparts?

P.s. just noticed we have a cpt.issues and major fubar on this thread. still room for a pvt.problems or sgt.cockup

I think a lot of people would disagree.

Mary Whitehouse was an evil, interfering, curtain twitching old biddy who should have been minding her own business rather than trying to impose her draconian and ignorant morals on everyone else.

The human equivalent of the Daily Mail.

Don't know about the Daily Mail but thoroughly agree with all else said.  What a pair she and Lord Longford made.  What did she say when he got caught importing PORN, [but only for research purposes of course] absolutely no condemnation at all?

Sickening self rightous wastes of space.

My stomach just turned then.  Exclamation Mark

I'll go watch "The evil dead" to settle it down.

Yes she was. Her problem was that she didn't think that courtesy should be extended to those who disagreed with her.

Exactly. A free country. I don't mind that she had an opinion, just that she wanted her opinion as law.

As for church going/evil... I imagine the percentage of evil people who go to church is at least that (or higher) than those who don't

@fr0g: indeed - history is littered with evil acts purportedly done in the name of [insert religion/tenet/ethos here]

Ahem... Back to the original subject.

For me hi-fi isn't about partner's view, but the whole family.

My little'un gets hours of pleasure a week from the hi-fi, and Mrs. P. If they didn't like it or never used the hi-fi I'd happily (sort of) settle for a decent midi.
