Worth picking up a Rotel ra-03 2nd hand?
Im looking for an amp to pair with some tannoy custom f1's and am ideally looking for a rotel ra-04. But there literally aren't any second hand (i can find) at the moment. Ive thought about getting a creative 640a because there are a couple of those around, but how would a rotel ra-03 compare to a rotel ra-04? The 03 is older obviously but retailed for more than the ra-04 when new. Cheers
Great thanks andy. If you had to choose one (difficult i know). Which is better (if they happened to be the same price for arguments sake) :)
Haven't done a side-by-side comparison of the RA-05 and RA-04 I'm afraid, so can't say.
Good answer! Impatience might get the better of me, if i can pick up the ra-03 today for around £200 i think i will do, ive heard a ra-04 before so could probably sell it on for about what i paid and swap them if im really not impressed. It may go for quite a bit more tho, you never know
If you can get a Rotel RA-03 for around £200, that would be a pretty good deal, I reckon.

In its day the £500 Rotel RA-05 was a superb all-rounder that worked well in a wide range of systems. At that time (2005) we gave it the full 5 stars. Depending on the price you can get it for, it's still a good buy.
