Who's the DAC Daddy? DVD player or Home Cinema Amp?

I have a Denon AVR2106 home cinema amp and am about to buy the Denon DVD1930 DVD player to go with it. I was always planning to connect them using a coaxial digital lead, but then I thought to myself; Are the DAC's in the DVD Player better than the ones in my amp? The DVD player is stated as having 24 Bit/192kHz Burr-Brown Audio DAC. Would it therefore be better to use the analogue outputs from the DVD player and connect them to the individual channel inputs in the amp? Would I really only benefit when playing CD's or would this apply to DVD's too? I'd like to hear any thoughts before shelling out for some quality patch cables!

There probably won't be much in it in terms of quality, but since you're going to need the multichannel analogue connections if you want to play multichannel DVD-Audio discs or SACDs through the receiver, it's probably worth experimenting.
You may have some budget cables kicking around, or you could use the pair provided with the player, plus a couple more pairs, which shouldn't set you back much more than a fiver from somewhere like Maplin.
In fact, I just noticed that the Maplin catalogue has a neat six-pack of cables, colour-coded so you get all the channels right(!), for £6.99.
