Recieved my order from zooverstocks today, all good except that one cd was missing,it had been replaced by  something called ''hosework music'' ROFL

I have bought quite a few Cd's from Zoverstocks via Amazon and have had no problems at all so far .

I am sure if you messaged them they will probably sent you a replacement or a refund for the missing Cd and probably won't ask you to return the ''hosework music'' :O ROFL

As far as I remember the zoverstocks return address is in Macclesfield Smile

 Electrocompaniet EMC 1 UP , Monarchy Audio DIP, Electrocompaniet ECD 1 dac , EC4.8 preamp , 2x AW180 monoblock power amps , PMC PB1i speakers . Thousands of Cd's .

They must be having a funny 5 mins... recieved one from them last week, right artist/cover/wrong album!

No probs though, immediate refund.

Discogs is excellent for some of those hard to find CDs  and vinyl. Some of the rarer CDs that I have seen on Amazon have been a LOT cheaper on discogs.

RE: Where do you buy CDs?

Amazon and charity shops.  Really couldn't care less about how much tax Amazon pays.  Who pays Amazon's corporation tax?  Consumers.

I also feel no sympathy for HMV or the struggling major record labels. I remember very well paying upwards of £15 for albums in 1995.  That's over £21 quid an album in todays prices according to the consumer price index.

Interesting to hear that some people like to have a physical browse.  I find the online stores far more useful for finding new music.  In fact, most of the music I buy and listen to now I find online (although not into the whole spotify thing).  Latest discovery: Hidden People by Kathryn Roberts and Sean Lakeman - check it out.

I'm surprised so many people buy music from supermarkets.  They generally stock about 40 CDs, mostly x-factor and compilation albums.  They're missing a trick as far as I can see.  Talk about a captive market.

RE: Where do you buy CDs?

Haven't bought and cds for years, but as I've recently been ripping all of the ones I do have, I thought it's be a good idea to buy a few.

Bought 8 or so from Zoverstocks, 1 out of the 3 I've tried has failed to rip so far, and some of the others don't look that good, so we'll have to see if they're ok.

They were cheap, but when they're described as very good, I don't expect them to be so scratched.

Lounge: Panasonic TX-P50GT50 / Yamaha RX-A2020 / Panasonic DMP-BDT110 / Dali Zensor 3 / Dali Zensor Vokal / Mordaunt Short MS20i Pearl Edition / Roksan Radius 5.2 / WDTV My Book Live / Seagate Expansion / Sky HD Box

My excact fears

I did get one from Amazon marketplace, I did not know it was coming from abroad as seller had UK on its name, so did take 3 weeks but was OK but if I had known I would have ordered it from a USA seller which was cheaper. I'm not sure about UK tax now, I know in the past I got stung for tax but it may depend on the value. It used to be £18 for VAT but believe that changed last year.

I have also bought about 6 from Zoverstocks, 4 were fine, one was like new even if rated v. good, 1 had a few marks on sleeve and scratches on cd, 1 had a couple of marks on cd and would not play on one track so had to be replaced. Overall fairly happy.

RE: Where do you buy CDs?

My only problem with Amazon is you can't order from their USA site which is often cheaper and has wider range. Postage is a bit weird as well, cds in UK are £1.26 but from USA same.

I'm just worried about ordering a disk, only for me to have like£30 to pay in import tax or something like...although i am waiting on an sacd from the states, but again it says it is a uk set-up.. :? Anyways it said the price was inclusive of all taxes, and in the delivery email they sent it states no sig required.
