What's next for upgrade?

I have recently swapped my Wharfedale 10.1s for Tannoy DC6 standmounted, rest is Marantz PM6003 and CD6003- with Chord Silverscreen. The stands are some old Atacama ones from the late 90's filled with Atabites.

Any suggestions on what the next item should be on my list - I am guessing the amp is now possibly the weakest link. Also wondering if buying some decent speaker stands like the Custom design FS104 would make any difference?

  Thanks for that, I didnt

Thanks for that, I didnt realise I need to buy music. I have read some reviews and according to Rolling Stone magazine, the best album of all time is Sergeant Pepper by the Beatles, but according to my 10 year old daughter, Katy Perry is better. Decisons...decisions...

Is there anything about it you're not happy with ?

On paper its a very good system.

If you stands are solid and attached securely to your speakers, I certainly would'nt be looking at that. I think stands/supports are just about the worst vfm items out there.

I got my MA GS stands new for £125, which I still believe is a rip off, I believe their original RRP was £400. CRAZY.

The only other thing is size of room, if its particularly large you maybe ought to think of a more powerful amp, but tha's about it.

They were £300/pair.

The £125 price was a clearance price when they were discontinued. Most speaker manufacturers don't make their own stands, or aren't in a position to, so they're made by a third party. If they could make them themselves they'd be cheaper.

If you compare them to anything else you can buy for £125, I'm sure you'll find that they were in fact excellent value for money Smile

Thanks for the feedback, not really, the only thing I find is some CDs/artists sound great others sound as if its playing out of a MW radio, the Killers first album for example. I havent listed to really high end systems - so I don't know what I am missing or not, i just like to have a thing on my shopping list to think about/read about for a while. The general idea is to replace the system over time in an upward path. Like 1 bit every couple of years.

Currently the 'thing' is a Cyrus 6A, at some point I will go and hear it, not in any rush. I will just stick with the stands i reckon.

Another question, when I try to post it says my subject is too big - on the screen it says what's next for upgrade, but when I post it, it puts the mesage text in, not the subject???
