RE: An old and very expensive

An old and very expensive 1970's McIntosh integrated amp (don't know what model).

A reconditioned 1970's JVC amp (only the pre-amp section was used) together with two high quality 30watt MOSFET power-amplifiers bought from RS Components and fitted by my dad who was an electronics engineer. These had a very genuine 2 x 30 watts of power and were comparable in power output to typical HiFi amplifiers that are optimistically rated at double that amount.

A Yamaha RX-V667 7.1 receiver.

The three 100 watt amplifiers that are built into my Neutron system.

Had a few including a short

Had a few including a short phase changing a few.

Rotel 931 (great first amp) l
Arcam 5 (a freebie)
Yamaha s500 (ok )
Marantz 6003 (Did not like at all)
Rega Brio 3 (liked this one and regretted selling, was hoping to pair with RS1 but finances did at time did not allow
Onkyo tx8050 (ok)

Talk electronics Storm 2 (present amp)

Only changed from rotel when I replaced my tannoy m1s.
Arcam 5 nice but sucked the life out of the more lively tunes.

In chronological order Smile

1. An old Sansui amp inherited from my late dad (1992 to 1997)

2. An old Akai amp purchased from Brighton Sunday market for a tenner in the first week I arrived in the UK (1997)

3. Sherwood RDS 325 (1997 to 1998 )

4. Marantz PM57 (1998 to 1999)

5. Musical Fidelity X-A1 and Yamaha RXV795aRDS (1999 to 2011)

6. Added Musical Fidelity X-A50 monoblocks to bi-amp(2000 to 2011)

7. Musical Fidelity M6i (2011 to current)

8. Yamaha RXV-2067 (2011)

8. Added Musical Fidelity M1 PWR to bi-amp (2012 to current)

Will now rest....until more fund allows me to get M6 PRX power amp.
