Upgrade from Linn Index speakers.

Hi,I currently have Linn Index ll speakers that cost around £300, maybe 15 years ago or more. I'm wondering roughly how much their modern equivalent would cost and secondly, what price range I should look at to get a significant improvement in sound quality.Just looking for a starting point really, from which to do some research followed by demo.Amp is a Rega Brio 3. Maybe that would need upgrading as well if I went for better speakers?Thanks.
I used to have Linn Inex Pluss speakers and would say that they are very difficult to imprive uon cheaply. Probably need to spend around £1200 for much improvement. Lookk at Spendor, Neat and PMC standmounts.
