Time for a new budget cd player (maybe)

I have an old Marantz CD 7300, like new and little used as it was stored for a very long time, now this in its day was a really good player and I have no problems with using it, my question is : will the new budget cd players sound better than mine because tech has moved on etc, the players I am looking at are Denon, Marantz CD 5003 / 5004 or CD 6004 or maybe Cambridge budget ones, any thoughts on this I would welcome. Just to add I listen to all kinds of stuff from Queen to Rumer to Katy Perry and everything in between so it needs to be an all rounder.

I think the only way you'll know for sure is to have a demo of the newer players.
There is another way. Assuming your CDP has a digital output, you could always use your existing CDP as a transport only and spend your money on a standalone DAC.
