I am sure I have read on here somewhere that the synology 213j can stream direct to a dac and then to an amp with no need for a streamer, anyone know if this is really possible and if so how and do you need any special software or other tricks. And if it is possible is it a reliable way of listening to tunes??
yes its possible as long as ypour dac has usb
i use DS Audio app to control everything, you just select USB speaker for the output
however Synology still wont do gapless.....grrrr
Icon Audio ST40 III / KT88, Rega Apollo R, DAC, RS3

Rega Quattro, Couple 1 & 2

Doesn't do gapless, but sounds pretty damn fine!
