Speakers the weakest link?

I'm currently running the following system Rega Planet 2000 CD player, audiolab LX amplifier, KEFQ35.2 speaker, Chord Cobra interconnect, Russ Andrews Classic Power Cords, Merlin Tarantula 4 way power Block and QED Silver Anniversary speaker cable Bi-Wired. The speakers are sited on 60mm thick granite plinths and the system is racked on an optimum two-tier glass stand.

I'm looking for more from my music as we all do. I want a more revealing sound with a better soundstage and seperation. The starting point for me would be the speakers, whilst they've given great service I know my source and amplifier would welcome a better outlet.

So I'm looking at suggestions as to speakers and possibly changes to the amp as a secondary change. I would be reluctant to change the CD Player as I think partnered well, its a bit of giant killer.

Again advice around cables would be much appreciated.

I have been toying with the idea of second-hand Sonus Faber Concerto's or Concertino's.

I listen to all types of music and my listening space is pretty much square at 4m x 4m.
