Lucky you. I would love to upgrade my 'i' series to twenty series, but that would get far too expensive right now given theres five channels to consider.

Enjoy the new speakers

gregvet - I'm told those on eBay are a part ex pair and are being sold via a dealer who isn't a PMC dealer. I got the impression they wouldn't come with any warranty...just saying Smile

Another question: would the GB1i/PMC 20.23 the RS5 and/or the Neat Motive 2 SE work in this room, or do I 'need' to go up to the next level up in size? 20.25/RS7 etc.?

At a guess, I would say that if your listening area can be closed off, you will be fine with the smaller models; but if it's open plan, you will probably need the bigger model.

A room that size needs more speakers.

You'd be best of getting 2 pairs of smaller speakers for the money you're looking to spend. placed on wall brackets fireing down. to give a fuller sound as opposed to a single pair of stereo speakers, it may well be worth looking second hand for higher spec speakers.

But two pairs is the way to go me thinks.

Only two point sources are going to be able to produce an accurate stero image and soundstage though.

No frank,

wire the room left and right i.e have the right side of the amp wired to the right side of the room and the left like wise. if you have two sets of speaker outs use them or biamped youll get the stereo image - its similar to surround sound, but instead of front and back it'll be left and right, but if you postioned yourself in the sweet spot you'll get the stereo image but for the length of the opposing walls.

The image may suprise you, it being slap bang in the middle of the room.

Hi,

I have a slightly smaller sized room, about 10m x 4m with a Naim Super Uniti and CDX2, my speakers are Neat Elite SXs which I find to be excellent, since I ungraded from a Uniti. They are placed relatively close (30cm) to the wall/window. The base is controlled and the soundstage perfect.

I compared these with some Momentum 4 which gave overpowering bass, for my taste at least.

Very happy with the set-up and I would suggest you give it a try in your room.
