Dont you think that you are 'lashing up the componants with sub standard cables' Rick me old mucka ,lol.
Gone quiet now aint he.
Cheers mate .

I find it crazy that you would invest money in decent separates only to lash up the components with substandard cabling.
I would say that the cables i use are anything but substandard. The standard 500 strand OFC speaker cables i am using work superbly between the Hiato amplifier and Pl200 speakers
Never heard any of this high end stuff but I can't help but referto my earlier point about hindering performance...

Been downthe pub socialising with people face to face instead of trolling cable recommendation threads. Try going out some time, you might enjoy yourself!
I trust you were imbibing some high quality ale rather than sub-standard lager?

Oooh I say vicar how very dare you.
So recommending ofc and saving the OP a few bob is trolling eh ?.
Will be good to read the OPs findings after his trip to Audio T .
Now lets say he prefers the Black Rhodium Tango , does that ,in itself , make it a superior wire ?.
Only to his ears Mr P_M ,only to his ears.
Of course the fact that Black Rhodium is plastered all over the sheathing will have no sway in the test outcome will it ,lol.
I find is amazing people still use rubbish cable. I have always bought good quality cable, not because I was told to, but because I listened to the difference and felt (for me) it gave an adequate improvement for the amount of money I cost.
I use Chord odyssey on my system, speak to someone at Chord and see what they recommend for your system, they actually know what they are talking about!
So pros use rubbish cable do they, just because they don't cost £100pm does not mean they are rubbish, as long as its thick enough copper for the length thats all you need. Quite a few ex Chord users have found Van Damme are much better.
Get stuck in my son , get stuck in.
I have got van damme hi fi cable and bought some second hand chord odyssey2 to test, i find the odyssey better but defintely not 4 times better.
The van damme is what i recommend as it's a good cheap cable for the money.

My take on cables.......
They do make a difference!
I swappen from Carnival Silver Screen to Rumour expoecting it to be a bit brighter - it wasnt, it actually sounded a little laid back compared to the SilverScreen - However the difference was not that big.
I have now got used to the Rumour, I will keep it now but I would be more than happy with SilverScren.

Whilst I have absolutely no truck with digital cables, experience has told me that analogue cables do sound different to each other. However, it isn't always the more expensive ones that sound the best. I'm currently using Atlas Equator II interconnect with Chord Carnival Silverscreen and it seems to work well without being a horrifically expensive combination. I do have some Rumour 2 in the cupboard.
I can quite believe that a basic 522 strand copper speaker cable works fine, but I'm not convinced about using the standard shoe-string interconnects. I have tried them a couple of times after reading Rick's recommendations and they've sounded pretty hideous to me but maybe it is just 'expectation bias'. Who knows??!!

I find basic interconnects work superbly. Systems breathe
Tell you what Rick, I'll give it another go.
