If you have an ipod then you might like to look at http://www.richersounds.com/package/system-savers/hifi-separate-systems/patwh254 for the same money.

Personally, I think you would be better off spending a bit more money and looking for something like the Denon DM38DAB and pair of standmounters - http://www.richersounds.com/search/denon%20dm38dab

From then on its just a slippery slope into obsession.

hello or goodbye

Not sure any/many people on here would have heard the Sandstrom or have know of its quality.

It looks like a Dixons Group own brand that makes/rebadges all sorts if electrical goods, so it might not be that great in terms of a piece of hifi. I would stick to companies/brands that have a reputation for audio electronics like Teac, Denon, although keeping to a lowish budget and getting a high ratio of sound quality per pound might be difficult unless you are prepared to buy used.

Go to your local Richer Sounds shop and see what else you might be able to get instead.

They are all pretty average products, I certainly wouldn't be buying one over the likes of a panasonic or equivilant. It really just depends on what price you can get them for. They are fairly well made (I deal with repairs in our store most of the time) not all that many seem to come back. So after reliability it's just a case of what it sounds like in your opinion.
