Rotel CD Player won't turn on!!??

Hi All
I am having trouble with my Rotel RCD-02 and thought someone out there might be able to shed some light on the problem. Basically I have it hooked up to a Rotel RA-02 and I am using the 12v trigger connection, but the CD player will not power up. The blue power light is on but the display is not, the amp works fine. Both are 4 years old, pretty much to the day.
If anybody has any ideas what the problem might be, or has experienced similar problems with the RCD-02 then your input would be much appreciated.

Thats made me feel a little better about it, hope it is as simply as bad 12v connection. Fingers crossed its not the CD player, don't fancy having to fork out another £400 after just 4 yrs of use!
Assuming the connections are made correctly, and you're operating both with the amp remote control, then I'm not at all sure what the problem is. The only suggestion I can make is a pretty crude one - switch both units off on via their power switches, unplug and replug the cable, and then power them up again.
If there's no joy, then either the cable is faulty - ie not sending the on signal to the player - or there's a fault in one of the units. I'd suspect the former, so it might be worth trying it with another 3.5mm mono jack to mono jack cable.
