If you can get your hands on the March edition of HiFi Choice ... then there is a group test of the following amps - you should be able to get some hints from there and of course your own demo if possible.

  • - Roksan Caspian M2
  • - Yamaha AS-2000
  • - Arcam FMJA38
  • - Audio Analogue Puccini Settanta V2
  • - Creek Desitiny 2
  • - Prima Luna Prologue One

Hi alchemist 1

The Roksan and Yamaha are both capable driving SCM20ASL monitors. If possible try both amps to see which one you prefer the presentation of with SCM20ASL monitors.

All the best

And whilst you there perhaps try one of the latest AV receivers, even much cheaper ones. They now measure as well as hifi amplifiers and have power as well as facilities to spare. You could save a lot of money.

In the same mould, Teacs A R-650 measured as well as Creeks Destiny 2 and has over 120 real Watts into 8, well over 200W into 4 ohms. Available for under £200 ...

regards
