I have a pair of floorstanders - Monitor Audio S6s - but not their stands, unfortunately.  The speakers are currently sitting on slightly wobbly floorboards so this is clearly not ideal.  Should I shell out £70 or so for the original stands from MA or are there good 3rd party stands (or spikes etc.) worth considering?

How come those floorboards are wobbly?
A plinth/stand or set of spikes can't do much, if the floor lacks structural stability...

My MA GR20s came both with plinths and two sets of spikes to be used with or without the plinths. The plinths give the speaker a bigger footprint and hence more stability, but the way it looks is not to everybody's taste.
