NEWS: Heco makes a Statement with £3000 floorstanders

German speaker company Heco is launching a new floorstanding design, the £3000-a-pair Statement.

The speakers combine a hexagonal cabinet profile with advanced driver design and layout, stand 1.23m tall and weigh 43kg apiece, and claim bass extension all the way down to 18Hz from their twin 20cm bass drivers.

The three-way speakers have triwirable terminals allowing adjustment of the midrange and treble levels, and are suitable for use with amps of between 30W and 500W.

The 25mm soft-dome tweeter, coated with carbon particles, sits below the 16.5cm midrange driver, which uses a paper cone and sits in its own open-backed compartment, allowing it to operate without compression.

The two paper-cone bass drivers are in their own enclosure, reflex-loaded with no fewer than three rear-venting port tubes, and the speaker is available in high-gloss black or silver.

Heco speakers are distributed in the UK by Pure Sound.
