Any pre-amp recommendations up to £300? What's the Rotel RC06 like?

Also, what system are you going to be using this with? If it's a Rotel system, you will probably be better off with a rotel pre-amp...
Why is that?
Power amp is an AVI S2000 btw. And I've tried an S2000 pre it was rubbish.
dunno about the rotel, but look up for some audiolab 8000c or 8000q on ebay.
