Pioneer PD-D6-J with Onkyo TX-SR705 AV receiver and B&W 685s

Can anybody tell me how these two components would work together, with a pair of B&W 685 front speakers?

I'm reading that you need to be quite careful with what you pair this Pioneer cd player with.

I'm pretty sure there is nowhere that I can audition this setup where I live (Dublin) so advice really is needed!

Yes, you're right, we did say that you need to be careful when partnering the Pioneer as its top-end is rather prominent. I'm intrigued as to why you're partnering a CD player and (very fine) pair of stereo speakers with an AV amp - do you intend to build a full 5.1 system in due course? Or is the system designed purely for hi-fi duties?

Sorry - should have elaborated:

It will be a 5.1 setup, with 686s at the rear, the HTM62 centre and 608 sub; Pioneer 428XD TV and PS3.

So how do you think all this will work together? I posted in the HiFi forum because this particular question is really about how my cds will sound.
