Onkyo A-9050
Will this amp become the new budget king ?
It looks awesome, has lots of power and a built in DAC. Just incredible for the money.
I think it costs 400 pounds but I'm not sure.

Their new HIFI products are amazing and the A-9050 costs only $500 where I live and that's cheaper than both the Yamaha AS-500 and the Marantz PM6004 plus it has buit-in dac. Only wish they had been making them sooner. Expect fierce competition. I'm getting an A-9070 in a week. Tired of the Brio 3 and replacing it with 9070 beast. Four 15,000-microfarad capacitors and 1.2 mm thick copper bus plate. This thing is a TANK compared to my cheap Rega Brio 3.

Do you know if this is a class D switching amp or is it an 'old-fashioned' class AB amp. I can only see power quoted for 8ohms (75w) but no 4ohm figures? i have the 'budget' SACD player (another bargain, if you're asking) so this is does look promising!

I'm itching to get this. But there's no nearby stockist and so far no proper reviews I can find. Anyone got any experience of it yet?

could this one be the 5* version with DAC and an even better partner than the 9030 for my 2010i's ?
