odd dm1 problem

this is a odd one my dm1 speakers play well with my onkyo amp.but if i play my dm1,s through my old sansui au 7417 or my au 717 if a turn the volume past quater to .i get a crackle through the speakers .it does the same with both amps .both of the sansui are 8 ohmns one is 60 and the other 90 watts.the onyko is 100 watt.s.so any idea what is going on ?.

As its both amps then i would check all connections outside and inside of the speakers including cables to see if theres a short.
If the noise was with just one amp the volume pot would need to be checked but thats ruled out in this instance.

does the same with doth sansui amps but not with the onkyo amp .but i will need to investgate further
