Hi

I inherited a a Sony CDP C425 multi-disc CD player, a Sherwood RV 6010R AV receiver and a pair of Mission M73i speakers. The CD player's a bit gimmicky, but it was free, so who am I to complain?

Anyway, the Sherwood's been playing up. The left channel's cutting in and out at random. I've tried switching the speakers around, switching the inputs around, using my computer as an input, using the secondary outputs, using the headphone output and it's all the same. The Sherwood's on its way out.

So I was wondering what would be a good replacement for something up to £150. I was considering the often recommended Cambridge Audio A5 or Azur 340A. Would these be a good match for my speakers?

Something maybe to note is that I very often supply the audio to the amp from my computer via an M-Audio Firewire 410, so a match for the speakers is more important than for the CD player.

I was also wondering whether there was a big sonic difference between the regular 340A and the SE version. The iPod connectivity would be handy, but is this the only thing you're paying £30 for?

Many thanks in advance for any answers.
