Indeed it has. Several times.

I know, it must be quite galling to find that what you just bought as 'state of the art' is suddenly not, but can be improved beyond measure by spending more. Upgraditis is a terrible thing.
Vertical Form 2
I see they have already changed the website for my 552.....
"When you build what you believe to be the world's best pre-amp, you put a lot of time and effort into getting it right!"
"When you build what you believe to be the world's second best pre-amp, you really just cobble it together!"
Wow, the Naim haters are really out in force......................
Quite the opposite. I have an xs/hicap dr and lots of other bits that have come and gone.
Just having a smile
I think the Naim S T A T E M E N T should be tested by
Photonicinduction on his channel.
He might pop it though.

They're not finished yet - they'll be milking this one, despite having not heard it...

Diminishing returns anyone? Just how much better is this than all those bog standard $100k amps?
I love Naim. But it is now standard procedure on the internet whenever a product is announced to decry the company for not making [INSERT PRODUCT THEY DO NOT MAKE THAT ONLY I WANT HERE]. This is a bit of a boring announcement for me tbh, since it's not something I'm ever going to buy, or even likely hear. And apparently you can get £700 speakers that are better.
They do seem quite good value compared to some of
this stuff though...
Anyway, calm down. We aren't taking the #### out of your system are we?
I have a lot of appreciation for Naim (had an all Naim system for two years) and still haven't ruled out all future Naim purchases (almost bought a NaimUnitiQute last year).
But they do rather talk a lot of semi mystical 'carp' when it comes to a lot of things and they leave themselves wide open to be prodded and poked. It's part of being Naim I suppose. (Cable shakers, PRaT, wobbly mains connectors, people 'listening' to different kinds of paint etc.)
Anyway, despite the fun, neither you nor I (or anyone here i'll wager) can afford the bl###y thing so it's all a moot point.
"We are currently awaiting the loading of our complement of small lemon-soaked paper napkins for your comfort, refreshment and hygiene during the journey."
Some of us can't even afford the brochure.

Interestingly, you'll notice there are no 'claims' at all in the press release, least of all about how it might sound.
